Milky Way over Mt Hood
Wigwam burner near Halfway
Had a little more luck with sharpness even though my shutter speed was less than the previous image (1/15s). I also got lucky here as my camera was panning the moving subjects. Hence the blurred background.
Framing at the Morrison bridge
Zoom Blur exposed for darks to blow out surrounding highlights thus eliminating distractions
Curious cattle near Joseph
Columbia River Gorge
Same image as before but cropped.
One more of Big Pink. I like the reflections of the dynamic skies.
More Big Pink glowing with the dark skies behind.
Big Pick glowing with a dark background.
Dog extremes. Had to recover a lot of shadow details in the Newfoundland.
Using the sign as a foreground element. Processed this to a gritty look because it was a gritty scene.
The Segway gang. I didn't have time to change settings and my shutter speed was too slow (1/20) to get a sharp image.
I like this perspective of the bridge as it leads to the convention center. Clouds again add a lot to this image. Bird adds some interest but could be mistaken as a dust spot :(
Using the cherry trees with their green foliage as a foreground with the Steel bridge towers in the background. Waited for a person to come into the frame for some added interest.
Loved the sun light on the tile roof. Thanks Cathy for pointing this out. The clouds really add to this image.
I like this perspective but would like the shot much more without the distractions (the cars and speed sign).
Wanted the nice green leaves at the bottom and the texture of the sun lit bricks and great cumulous clouds with some blue skies.
More shadow work but down low. Wanted to have the shadow at a diagonal to lead the eye in. Perhaps a better defined subject would help here such as a person on the side walk.
More shadows. Wanted to center Big Pink in the bridge structure to frame it. I think the shadows and framing lead the eye nicely to the building.
Really liked the shadows at play on the silos.
Water glistening through bridge structure. Focused on water. ISO 100, 100mm, f/8, 1/200s.
Fremont bridge from the north side of the Broadway bridge. Cropped to 16x9 aspect ratio to eliminate some of the empty space in the sky. But this crop has some empty space in the water. Perhaps a more panoramic crop would be better.
More sun bust effect (f/16) but this time with exposure compensation at -2EV.
Sun burst effect using f/16 aperture and focused near infinity.
Sun directly behind a light globe.
S-Curve on tracks leading to silos. Vertical comp cropped to 4x5.
Shallow depth of field (focused on second rivet up).
Zoom Blur on Broadway bridge structure.
Marquam bridge reflecting with the appearance of it going into the building. Thanks for the idea Craig!. Shot at 12mm but should have moved forward to eliminate the railing and steps. and even the tree branches. Will try this one again.
